CAUGHT CHA AWARDS

The "Caught Ya" awards are a way to recognize and celebrate students who embody the qualities of the school's spirit word, such as kindness, perseverance, or responsibility. When students demonstrate these positive traits in their actions and interactions, they are "caught" displaying the spirit word's values and recognized in Friday assembly. This encourages a positive and supportive school culture by highlighting and rewarding the behaviors that reflect the school's core values.

Measures of Academic Progress

MAP Testing at Cedarwood School | K-7th Grade
Monday | Tuesday | Wednesday

This week, our students are taking the MAP® (Measures of Academic Progress) tests from NWEA—an important tool we use to track growth and guide learning.

MAP tests are computer-based and adaptive, adjusting in difficulty as students answer questions. This gives us a clear picture of each child’s strengths and areas for growth in reading, math, and language usage.

Unlike traditional tests, MAP focuses on growth over time, not just a single score. Administered multiple times a year, MAP results help us:

  • Personalize learning for each student
  • Monitor progress toward academic goals
  • Inform instruction and curriculum decisions

At Cedarwood, MAP testing is not about pressure—it’s about progress. The data helps teachers support every child’s journey, ensuring they continue to thrive today and are well-prepared for tomorrow.
