Brian Cordes is the Principal of the Elementary School (K-7th Grade) at Cedarwood School. Mr. Cordes has seventeen years of experience in the field of education. Prior to Cedarwood, Mr. Cordes served as a Department Chairperson and teacher mentor at Ursuline Academy in New Orleans. Mr. Cordes earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Louisiana State University and his Masters in Education from Loyola University.

Social Studies is Mr. Cordes’s academic specialty. Mr. Cordes has served as an academic mentor for 6th & 7th grade students during their long-term Social Studies Fair projects where students have won top awards at the regional and state levels. Mr. Cordes is also the moderator for The Cedarwood Chapter of the National Elementary Honor Society.

Mr. Cordes brings a wide array of talent and experience with curriculum alignment, AdvancED certification, technology and of course, teaching. Mr. Cordes is a proponent of authentic leadership, collaboration and in creating positive learning environments. Mr. Cordes has seventeen years of experience in education with his most recent experience as a Department Chairperson and teacher mentor at Ursuline Academy in New Orleans. Mr. Cordes earned his Bachelor of Science degree and his Masters in Education from Loyola University in New Orleans.
